On 1 July 2023, the responsibility for power and water services for 117 Aboriginal communities was transferred from the Department of Communities to Horizon Power and Water Corporation.
Over the coming years, Horizon Power will partner with every remote community to deliver sustainable, reliable power services.
Three primary goals
Empowering remote communities
Delivering positive outcomes in Aboriginal communities through authentic, community-led engagement.
Underpinned by our Remote Communities Blueprint
A comprehensive program of work with 55 identified key initiatives across eight workstreams.
Horizon Power acknowledges the Traditional Custodians throughout Western Australia and their continuing connection to the land, waters and community. We pay our respects to all members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and their cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.
We recognise and appreciate a continued connection through stories, traditions and living cultures and commit to building a brighter future together. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are advised that this presentation may contain images, names or voices of deceased people.
